Visitor counters
Following a handful of requests for this, we’ve added another new feature to your Gift History. You can now find a quick visitor counter at the foot of the page:
The counter shows both the number of page views your registry’s had, and the number of different computers used. That’s a pretty close guide to the number of actual people who have viewed your wedding list — although sometimes different family members all share the same computer, and some people like to view a list both at home and at work.
We only count visits made to your actual list page — so if someone views your intro page, but doesn’t move on to the list itself (if, for example, you’ve set a release date), they won’t be counted here.
Technical note: our site sets a cookie for each guest who views a list, and visits are only counted from computers that accept this cookie. This means that automated systems, like search engine bots, aren’t included. Very rarely, however, a guest won’t have cookies enabled either, which means their visit also wouldn’t be counted. For this reason, we can’t guarantee that the counter is 100% accurate.
To see your visitor counter, just log into your account, and click on the pale green Gift History tab. We hope it’s a useful little addition. As always, if you have any queries or comments, please let us have them!
